Great Barrier Reef!!

Today we went to the  outer Great Barrier Reef. We snorked for three and a half hours. I saw a lot of different kinds of fish. But one thing that is happening is the water temperature is rising too fast for the coral and mass amounts of coral are dieing. Marine biologists around the world fear for its future. Can you find the dead coral in these photos?  By the way, that’s me snorkelimg in the picture!

  1. Dear Asia,
These are such amazing pictures. It is so wonderful that you are sharing your experiences with us on your blog. We just read an article in our Time for Kids about the Great Barrier Reef and how the warming temperatures are causing great problems for the sea life there. Thank you for being our own personal guide to the Great Barrier Reef! We appreciate you sharing your learning with us all.

  2. That’s really cool that you got to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef. I always thought it would be fun to snorkel but I can’t swim so that wouldn’t work out very well. It’s sad to know that coral is dieing. I wonder if there is anything the people who read this can do. Also what type of of fish did you see?

  3. Hello Asia!
I’ve always wanted to go snorkeling. It seems really fun and exciting. It is sad that so many coral are dying. Hopefully there’ll be a solution so that they can survive. Did you see any weird types of fish or a shark?
